In 1957 Harris & Associates was formed and incorporated as a consulting engineering and land surveying firm. Starting out primarily as a site design engineering and land surveying firm, the Company has grown into the areas of Hydrology and Hydraulics, Building and Structural Engineering, Architecture, and Construction Management. Our diversified list of clientele includes commercial retailers, manufacturers, commercial developers, professional service owners, warehousing firms, multi-family housing developers, design/build firms, municipalities, and other engineering and surveying firms. Eighty percent of our services are performed for repeat clients, attesting to their satisfaction.

A successful consulting firm is built on a strong foundation of qualified and competent personnel. Harris currently employs professional engineers and registered land surveyors. A well-rounded group of draftsmen and assistant surveyors, and an office manager, complete the staff.

Our architectural services extend to a vast variety of structure types and occupancies. Harris & Associates has experience in the design of commercial retail buildings, medical clinics, dental offices, business offices, service facilities, restaurants, automobile dealerships, manufacturing facilities, warehouses, multi-family housing developments, and senior living developments. Harris & Associates has vast design experience in conventional steel buildings, masonry buildings, precast concrete buildings, and wood frame buildings. Our structural engineering services extend beyond the design of buildings. We have experience in design relating to retaining walls, sign foundations, flagpole foundations, silo and equipment foundations, and pedestrian and snowmobile bridges. Our civil engineering staff has extensive experience in site development for building projects. This experience relates to stormwater detention, infiltration and water quality design, establishment of grading plans, utility plans, and erosion control plans. In the area of hydrology and hydraulics, Harris has performed services relating to floodplain flow and elevation determinations, creek bed dredging projects, detention and retention basin designs, and waterway relocations. The registered land surveyors employed by Harris have a vast amount of experience in boundary surveys, topographic surveys, as-built surveys, ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, subdivision plats, and construction staking. Cooperation between the engineering, architectural, and surveying departments coupled with a general understanding of each others' responsibilities, have developed a professional unit capable of undertaking a wide range of projects.
